Are there any processing fees for payments?

In the US, Stripe typically charges 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction (see stripe.com/pricing). We add 1% per successful transaction.

Can I accept card payments?

Yes. Clients can pay by Cash, Check, Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App Pay, Zelle, Klarna, Link, or ACH Direct Debit.

Can I add a note or payment information to the invoice?

Yes. Use the Notes section; it appears after you add at least one item and client details. The last note is saved for future use.

Can I apply a discount to an invoice?

Yes. Add a discount as a percentage or fixed amount to any line item or to the total.

Can I create estimates?

Yes. Create branded estimates with logo, pricing, taxes/discounts. To convert to an invoice, open the estimate and tap the black button.

Can I customize my invoices?

Yes. When editing an invoice, tap Preview → Customize to change color and template.

Can I manage multiple businesses?

Yes. Go to Settings → Business Information to create and manage multiple profiles.

Can I print or download the invoice as a PDF?

Yes. Invoices are PDFs by default. Web: open the invoice → Download or Print. App: open → Print, or Share → Save to Files.

Can I use Tofu if I’m a solo contractor?

Yes. Tofu suits one-person crews and small teams for invoicing, payments, and tracking without extra staff.

Can I use Tofu on my phone and computer?

Yes. Tofu works on iOS, Android, tablets, and desktop.

Can my customers cover the card fees?

US only: enable this in Settings → Accepting Payments → "Online Payment Fee" to add the fee when clients pay to your Stripe account.

Do clients need to sign up to view invoices or estimates?

No. Clients can view invoices without creating an account.

How do I add tax rate and information?

When editing an invoice, select Tax, enter the rate, and choose included or excluded. Add your tax ID or notes in the Notes field.

How do I link my Stripe account?

Go to Settings → Accepting Payments, enable card payments, then connect with your Stripe login to accept online payments.

How do I send an invoice to a client?

Open the invoice and click/tap Send Invoice to email via our server (invoice@tofu.com). In the app, you can also Share via SMS or messengers.

How do I start collecting payments online?

App: Settings → Accept Payments → Stripe and follow the steps.

How do I track payment status?

Stripe payments auto-mark invoices as Paid and send a push. For external payments, update status manually (Cash, Bank, etc.).
